This agency has the only benchmarking system in Australia that can give the big retailers a deep, systematic understanding of why their shoppers behave the way they do for any category, segment, brand.
It is a hugely powerful research tool that informs the category vision, strategy, and tactical plans of the top 40+ big names in grocery and liquor with billion-dollar turnovers. 
This hire is driven by growth. We’re adding to the client servicing team with a Senior Insights Manager to drive strategic account management, deliver category/shopper strategy, mentor team members and work closely with the Head of Client Service as a 2IC in training. The ideal scenario is to find an individual who wants to learn the ropes and gun for AD level plus quickly.

A Variety of ad hoc briefs using rich, nuanced data set:
Working with Buyers, Sales, Marketing and Category stakeholders to inform category strategy through a systematic analysis of shopper mindset, sentiment, and behaviour.
  • How can we premiumise our category? What are the opportunities?
  • How can we validate those opportunities by understanding our shoppers?
  • We can see growth in category X – what are the opportunities for shoppers to trade up?
  • Pricing promotions – to what extent should we be promoting quality v price?
  • What should my layout be? Am I blocking correctly?
  • How do shoppers behave on certain missions?
Day to day tasks:
  • Drive big strategic accounts. Own the relationships to ensure long term retention and growth.
  • Dive in to the (survey) data to tackle a mixture of customised briefs and regular reports
  • Synthesise data, pull out critical insights and add top-level thinking to all deliverables
  • Deliver regular presentations and workshops
  • Develop your reputation as a specialist in the FMCG/Category Insights, advocating the Shopper.
  • Support senior management with thought leadership, marketing and representing the agency in industry
  • Upskill and support the client service team
  • Bring energy, ideas, and support to your teammates
Desired experience:
  • Significant experience in FMCG/ Retail/ Shopper Insights & Category Strategy
  • Ideally experience in another agency environment
  • Experience of survey data ideal (market research profile)
  • Experience of using POS, loyalty, panel data highly regarded
  • Passionate about FMCG trends and innovation
