Senior Consultant - Banking & Financial Services (Customer Insights)

Job description

Join a global financial services insights specialist in a senior, client-facing role supporting leading banks to make sharper, customer-led decisions.
This fast-growing consultancy and research business focuses exclusively on financial services. You’ll be working with banks, fintechs and insurers across 40+ markets. Their work blends syndicated intelligence with bespoke consulting, powered by one of the most compelling financial services data ecosystems in the region.
You’ll step into a pivotal role within a high-performing Sydney client team, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across major banking clients. This is a hands-on, commercially minded position where you’ll be trusted to own relationships, elevate insight quality, and drive best practice across delivery.

The role
As Senior Consultant, you’ll work at the intersection of customer insight, performance metrics and commercial strategy. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end insight delivery and act as a key point of contact for your clients, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and genuinely actionable.
You’ll work across topics including:
  • Digital banking and customer experience
  • Payments and everyday banking behaviour
  • Lending and financial wellbeing
  • Competitive performance and customer advocacy (including NPS)
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced researcher or consultant who enjoys a mix of client leadership, analytical depth, and practical delivery and who wants to be part of a dynamic, multicultural, agency-style culture.

What you’ll be doing
Working closely with a Client Director and broader consulting team, you will:
  • Own day-to-day client relationships and deliver outstanding service
  • Lead end-to-end ad hoc insights projects: briefing, scoping, analysis planning, reporting and recommendations
  • Translate complex data into clear commercial narratives for senior stakeholders
  • Deepen understanding of client strategy, performance metrics and key drivers
  • Run monthly WIPs and client presentations
  • Improve delivery and QA processes, supporting smarter and more automated ways of working (including AI-enabled techniques)
  • Manage workload prioritisation, ad hoc hours and stakeholder expectations
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, contributing to a high-performing team culture
What you’ll bring
  • 5+ years’ experience in market research, insights or consulting (agency or client-side)
  • Strong financial services exposure, ideally in banking
  • Proven ability to deliver customer insight that influences decisions (not just reporting)
  • Experience managing primary research from design through to delivery
  • Confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Tools experience such as SPSS, Q or similar analytical platforms
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset. You are someone who enjoys raising the bar
What’s on offer
  • A genuinely global organisation with teams across Australia, the UK, the US and Singapore
  • Exposure to world-class financial services data and high-profile client challenges
  • 25 days’ leave, flexible working and strong training & development
  • A fast-moving, energetic, multicultural culture with real career runway
If you’re ready to step into a senior consulting role where you’ll own client relationships, elevate insight quality, and help shape the way leading banks serve their customers, get in touch.
