Associate Director - Strategic Audience Insight & Consultancy

Job description

Are you a strategic insights professional who thrives on turning research into meaningful action?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global consultancy specialising in audience strategy and cultural insight, partnering with leading arts, cultural and public sector organisations around the world. Their work helps organisations deepen relationships with audiences, shape long-term strategy and demonstrate impact through robust evidence and insight.
With an expanding presence across Australia and New Zealand, they are now looking for an Associate Director to lead major consulting projects, manage key client relationships and contribute to the growth of the regional business.

The Role
Working closely with senior leadership internationally, you will take ownership of strategic insight programmes for high-profile organisations. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, helping clients interpret research findings and translate them into practical strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading large-scale strategic research and consulting programmes from design through to delivery
  • Managing senior client relationships and acting as a strategic partner to organisations navigating change
  • Designing robust research methodologies, primarily quantitative, with some qualitative integration
  • Interpreting complex data and translating findings into clear, persuasive narratives and recommendations
  • Delivering impactful reports, presentations and workshops to senior stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and contribute to new business initiatives
  • Managing and mentoring a small local team while collaborating with an international network of specialists
About You
You are naturally curious, commercially aware and confident advising senior stakeholders. You enjoy tackling complex strategic challenges and helping organisations make informed decisions.

You’ll likely bring:
  • A background in agency-side market research, insights or strategy consulting
  • Strong expertise in quantitative research design and analysis, with broader methodological knowledge
  • Experience leading multi-stakeholder research or consultancy projects
  • A track record of translating insight into strategic recommendations
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills
  • Previous team leadership or mentoring experience
Experience working with cultural organisations, membership-based organisations or visitor economies would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-led global consultancy working on projects that shape how organisations connect with audiences and communities.
You’ll be part of a collaborative international team delivering work across multiple markets, while helping build the firm’s presence in Australia and New Zealand.
Flexible working arrangements are supported, with the role open to candidates across Australia.
