Research Consultant / Senior Research Consultant

Job description

If you’re a naturally curious researcher who loves solving problems, thinks commercially, and brings energy to everything you do, this role will feel like home.

I’m partnering with a high-growth boutique insights and strategy consultancy that’s built an exceptional reputation in just a few short years. They’re lean, agile, tech-forward and values-led - known for delivering beautifully clear, strategic and genuinely actionable insights. This is a consultancy that moves fast, thinks hard, and does work that truly lands with clients.

There’s no traditional office here. You’ll work remotely, spending time with clients primarily around Melbourne, with occasional travel to Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Why this consultancy stands out
  • Learn directly from recognised industry thought leaders in a rapidly growing business (50% growth last year with no signs of slowing)
  • Gain exposure to the full research lifecycle - from pitch and proposal through to storytelling and senior-level presentations
  • Work entirely on bespoke projects spanning brand, segmentation, CVP, U&A, pricing, communications testing, campaign evaluation, NPS, pack design, thought leadership, and more
  • Apply a method-fluid, data-agnostic approach using quantitative, qualitative, analytics, AI, and research technology in whatever combination best answers the brief
  • Collaborate with a diverse client base across FMCG, digital services, retail, entertainment, financial services, QSR, health, and beyond
  • Enjoy autonomy from day one, no silos, no red tape, no slow-moving hierarchy
  • Benefit from five weeks’ annual leave, flexible working, and a culture that genuinely champions work-life balance
  • Thrive in a people-first environment where progression is uncapped, and your voice helps shape the future of the business
Who will thrive here?

This role suits someone who:
  • Loves tackling complex problems and turning them into clear, compelling stories
  • Has strong commercial instincts and a drive to deliver great work for great clients
  • Is naturally curious about the world and how people think, act, and decide
  • Enjoys variety and feels energised by fully bespoke, project-based work
  • Is comfortable working autonomously and having a real seat at the table
  • Has experience across quantitative, qualitative, analytics — or a combination of these — and is keen to keep learning and stretching
  • Wants more ownership, influence, and the chance to help shape the future of a growing consultancy
