Job description

Creative, flexible, and hugely respected, our client is an Australian consultancy at the forefront of Innovation, Design Thinking and Qualitative Strategy.
They solve real-world business problems for an outstanding profile of local and international clients across all sectors, from technology to retail and mental health. Names include – Lion, Oporto, Cannon, Reach Out, Anglicare, Google, and McCain. They do this by blending qualitative research, design thinking and creativity resulting in changes such as – new products, new services, new processes, new systems, and new brands.
They offer the best of both worlds in a close-knit division of 5 within a large digital agency. The flexibility, creativity and agility of a start-up with the scale, benefits and scope of a large agency!
The role: Innovation Consultant
This role will suit a strategic thinker who can integrate qualitative strategy, design thinking and creativity in a full-service consultancy role – involved in all elements of projects from brief to design delivery and execution.
Bespoke, brief-led, no two projects will be the same. In one month, you could pilot VR training programmes for an FMCG giant, design new digital services to support youth mental health, prototype new packaging for a sustainable pet-food brand, and deliver innovative training workshops in the USA! It’s cool, fun and thought-provoking work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating client conversations and budling relationships
  • Delivering strong project management – ensuring projects are running to scope, timeframe and budget
  • Explore and diagnose briefs, pulling apart problems.
  • Design and map methodologies and frameworks
  • Facilitate qual – in-depth interviews, co-creations, workshops, immersions, focus groups,
  • Triangulate, synthesise, and translate information.
  • Design and apply evidence-based interventions, services, experimental pilots and rapid prototypes.
  • Support senior leaders with reports and presentations.
About you:
  • You have consulting experience in innovation, research, strategy, branding or planning.
  • You have a qualitative methodological toolkit from interviews to workshops.
  • You like to work to pace and get a thrill out of kicking goals
  • You are comfortable grappling with problems with a high degree of ambiguity.
  • You can think analytically, creatively, and laterally all at once
  • You love pulling apart problems and questioning the why.
  • You have your finger firmly on the pulse of news, cultural bites and pop culture.
  • You love music (they take their office playlists very seriously)
