Senior Research Consultant - Social & Commercial Insights

Job description

This independent Research, Insights and Strategy Consultancy is driven by a genuine desire to improve the world.

They offer a unique proposition – a boutique agency culture within a global communications agency, a 50:50 qualitative/quantitative methodology split and partnerships with commercial and social clients, from charities to NGOs, social enterprises, and government departments.

Their work informs policies, inspires communications, and sheds light on social issues.

About the role: Senior Research Consultant
As a Senior Research Consultant (with a quantitative leaning), you’ll be involved in running projects from pitch to final presentation, be a confident client manager, and enjoy building trusted relationships and adding a strategic perspective.
Managing projects end-to-end, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Designing research proposals
  • Facilitating qualitative and quantitative fieldwork
  • Translating data into insights and insights into actionable recommendations
  • Delivering reports and engaging client presentations
  • Mentor and inspire junior members of the team
Projects are predominantly customised ad-hoc projects (with some tracking)  – and you’ll love the constant stream of diverse projects spanning behaviour change, communications evaluation, strategy, segmentation, customer experience, branding, and choice modelling.
In one month, you could be designing behavioural nudging frameworks to encourage rural community members to be better prepared for bushfires, facilitating qual-ethnography to understand the behaviours behind risky driving for a govt department, designing and testing a communications campaign to improve financial literacy and running a strategic brand tracker for a Big-4 Bank!

Who We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of agency-side experience in social or commercial research
  • Proven experience managing projects end-to-end.
  • A dualist with qual and quant methodologies
  • Ability to build trusted client relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Technical quant capabilities with SPSS, Q and Excel
  • Empathy, humility, and critical thinking
  • A detail-oriented & flexible approach to problem-solving
Working alongside a like-minded, passionate, and diverse team, you’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop your qualitative and quantitative research skills and stretch your thinking in cultural insights, advanced analytics, and behavioural economics – while solving real-world problems.

You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong, supported by an amazing, smart, nurturing and supportive senior leadership team with brilliant benefits:
  • Flexible & hybrid working
  • Newy build offices with end-of-trip facilities.
  • Birthday leave + volunteering leave
