Consultant - Social Research & Policy Evaluation
Job description
Our client is a leading research and consulting firm dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based insights to inform policy and program decisions. They work with a diverse range of clients, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and foundations, to address complex societal challenges. As a team, the work they do supports vulnerable and marginalised communities across areas such as child safety, domestic violence, youth justice, gender equality, education, health, disability and diversity and inclusion.
They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant with a track record in Social Research and Evaluation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping to deliver large-scale policy evaluation studies, overseeing project design, and ensuring the implementation of state-of-the-art mixed methods approaches.
Responsibilities:
Project Design & Management: Have input into the design and management of new evaluation projects, which may involve a combination of qualitative and quantitative research components and mixed methods approaches.
Evaluation Methodology: Make informed decisions about the appropriate evaluation methodology and approaches to ensure the validity and reliability of research findings.
Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate project activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members, clients, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality research outcomes.
Thought Leadership: Stay informed about and implement state-of-the-art mixed methods and evaluation techniques within the team to maintain our competitive edge in the field.
Data Translation: Support the translation of data collected through various means (e.g., qualitative interviews, surveys, administrative records, secondary data, etc.) into a coherent assessment that addresses the research and evaluation questions effectively.

Requirements:
- Relevant degree and 3+ years of experience gained in evaluation / social research / policy environment
- Prior experience working within a commercial consultancy is a must
- Expert qual and quant research and evaluation skills
- Strong reporting and communication skills
