Account Director / Business Development Manager - Online Market Research
Job description
Drive new business. Build trusted partnerships. Shape the future of online research.
Are you someone who thrives on the chase, but also values long-term relationships? This is your chance to join a high-performing, award-winning organisation at the forefront of online market research.
Our client is an agile, innovative leader in the world of panels and digital insights. Their proprietary tech and responsive approach help businesses make smarter, faster decisions every day. As they continue to grow, they’re seeking an Account Director or Business Development Manager (title flexible depending on your background) to lead national growth efforts.
This is a pivotal, client-facing role with a healthy mix of new business and account management—think 60:40 or 50:50 split. You'll be joining a collaborative, high-achieving team where performance is recognised and rewarded—financially and culturally.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategise & Sell
Develop smart, actionable sales strategies and account plans—combining marketing initiatives, prospecting, and partnership building.
Grow Existing Accounts
Manage client contracts, identify cross-sell opportunities, and re-engage lapsed clients with strategic, consultative communication.
Build New Relationships
Source new business through your network, outreach, and market awareness—confidently opening doors and driving conversations.
Proposal & CRM Management
Respond to briefs with precision, advising clients on research design and best practices. Keep CRM activity up-to-date for clear forecasting and pipeline visibility.
Collaborate to Amplify
Work with the marketing team on BD campaigns and content across multiple channels—from email to LinkedIn to events.
Be the Face of the Brand
Attend industry events, stay across market trends, and represent the brand in a credible, authentic way.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a commercially-savvy, client-facing insights professional who thrives on relationships, results, and reward. You know how to walk the talk—with real examples of the business you've won and how you won it.
5+ years' experience in market research (essential)
Solid understanding of online panels, sample methodologies, and data collection
Proven track record in new business development and account growth
Confident, warm, and credible communicator
Skilled at writing proposals and crafting pitch decks
Motivated by achievement—with clear, achievable sales targets in sight
Why You’ll Love It
Attractive Base + Super + Uncapped Commission
Generous, transparent commission structure
Hybrid working – 2 days in-office, 3 days from home
Global mobility – work from international offices for a few weeks a year
Culture – Supportive, inclusive, and refreshingly low-ego. Think autonomy over micro-management, collaboration over competition, and maturity over office politics.
