Research Director - Government Research

Are you passionate about understanding consumer behaviour and the unconscious drivers which impact our decisions? Are you an ambidextrous researcher with expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies?

This is a fascinating opportunity to work closely with State and Federal Governments to provide program evaluation and behavioural insights to inform social marketing, brand, communications, and public policy.

Playing a pivotal role alongside the Sydney MD in driving the Government work stream, you will manage 1-2 direct reports, win and lead client insights work and help build up an already thriving practice area.

Research Director

This is an exciting role for an expert social & Government researcher looking for an opportunity to drive an agenda of your own.
Topics include gambling behaviour, road safety, swim safety, emergency relief responses approached in an entirely customised way to explore behaviour, attitudes, and heuristics. You’ll flex muscles in quant survey design and a range of qualitative fieldwork, often immersive and ethnographic.
We’re looking for a strategic thinker, committed to finding solutions for clients. An adept relationship builder who can write a winning government proposal and lead the team to great success.

Core responsibilities:  
  • Strengthen relationships with Government clients & Drive new business opportunities
  • Design multimethod research to tackle highly engaging and challenging social issues
  • Deliver full-service research & high-level strategic insights consultancy
  • A hands-on researcher who loves the craft.
  • Inspire and lead the team
  • Promote the agency as an industry thought leader
  • Work closely with the Sydney MD

Candidate expectations:  
  • Established senior profile as a social and Government research specialist
  • Quantitative & qualitative expertise
  • Previous market/social research agency experience is essential
  • Strong track record of excellent client delivery
