Senior Research Manager - Future-focused intelligence

An opportunity has opened within the research and analytics arm of a global communications consultancy, supporting some of the world’s most recognised brands across Australia and the wider region.

This role sits in a high-performing insights team that blends primary research, secondary intelligence, digital analytics and social listening to help organisations understand audiences, shape strategy, and build trust.
Research here doesn’t live in isolation. Instead, it plays a central role in larger reputation, brand and communications programmes.

The Role
As a Senior Research Manager, you’ll lead end-to-end research projects and act as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders. You’ll work across a wide mix of methodologies and data sources, using technology and AI-enabled tools to deliver insight that is practical, relevant and forward-looking.
Projects are varied and tailored, spanning areas such as brand and reputation, audience understanding, campaign planning and evaluation, trust, loyalty and emerging issues.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading research projects from brief through to delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs
  • Advising on the right research approach to solve client and business challenges
  • Integrating quantitative, qualitative and digital data sources into clear insight stories
  • Using advanced tools and AI-driven solutions to enhance speed and depth of insight
  • Building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Contributing to new business activity and the development of innovative research solutions
  • Sharing new thinking, tools and best practice across the team
What We’re Looking For
  • Around 4+ years’ experience in consumer or strategic research
  • Strong end-to-end experience in quantitative research, including design, analysis and reporting
  • Exposure to, or interest in, qualitative methods
  • Confident hands-on analysis skills (e.g. Q or similar tools)
  • Curiosity around emerging data sources, AI and analytics innovation
  • Experience with social listening or media intelligence tools is a bonus
  • A clear communicator who enjoys translating data into strategic recommendations
