Research Consultant - Smarter Retail Decisions

Job description

A global leader in data, analytics and insights is looking for a Consultant to join their high-performing retail team. Working at the intersection of data, strategy and client advisory, you’ll partner with a portfolio of retail clients to deliver actionable insights that drive commercial growth.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a commercially minded researcher or analyst who enjoys client interaction and wants to step into a more consultative, stakeholder-facing role.

The Role
You’ll work across a mix of large and smaller retail clients (including pharmacy, health & beauty and convenience), delivering insights that shape decision-making across pricing, category, marketing and customer strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Turning complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Managing multiple client accounts, balancing day-to-day analysis with larger strategic projects
  • Identifying new opportunities for growth within existing client relationships
  • Partnering with clients to understand business challenges and provide tailored solutions
  • Presenting insights through compelling storytelling and influencing stakeholders
  • Working with a variety of data sources (e.g. POS/scan data, shopper panel, loyalty data)
What We’re Looking For
  • 2-3 years’ experience in insights, analytics, research or category analysis
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience working with retail / shopper / transactional data
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present insights and build client relationships
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Commercially curious with the ability to spot opportunities and add value to clients
  • Background in agency, consultancy, retailer or manufacturer environments all considered
