Job description
An established, specialist shopper insights consultancy is looking for an Insights Manager to join their growing Sydney team.
Working at the intersection of shopper behaviour, category strategy and commercial decision-making, this role offers the chance to partner with some of Australia’s best-known FMCG brands and retailers, helping them understand why shoppers behave the way they do and what to do next.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of FMCG clients, delivering insight-led recommendations that shape category vision, strategy and execution. This is a hands-on role, blending analysis, storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and growing relationships with major FMCG and retail clients
Interrogating survey-based datasets to answer both ad-hoc and ongoing business questions
Translating complex shopper data into clear, actionable insights
Delivering compelling presentations and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders
Acting as a trusted shopper and category specialist within the client team
Contributing ideas, energy and collaboration within a close-knit agency environment
About You
You’ll be curious, commercially minded and confident working with data and clients alike.
You’ll likely bring:
Experience in shopper, FMCG, retail or category insights
A background in market research or insights (agency experience ideal)
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with survey data
Exposure to POS, loyalty or panel data (highly regarded, not essential)
A passion for FMCG categories, innovation and shopper behaviour
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence through insight
Why This Role?
Join a small, agile consultancy that works with some of the biggest names in grocery and liquor
High exposure to senior client stakeholders and commercially meaningful work
A genuinely supportive culture where you can own your role and grow with the business
Flexible working arrangements and a focus on professional development
